Congratulations to the Wilde family of Skerries on the arrival of their brand new vessel the ‘Mary Paul’.
Father Father Ivan and son Eamon on the deck of the Mary Paul. Named after Eamon’s grandmother Mary and Ivan’s brother Paul
Built in Croatia, she measures 26mtr length x 8 mtr beam. (85’ x 26’). Her main engine is a Cummins k38-m producing
850 Horse Power driving a 2.7mtr propeller. Her fish room can carry 13 tonnes of frozen–at–sea prawns and up to 500 boxes of fresh
fish in 35 Kilo boxes. Her usual fishing trip would be 6 to 8 days and she will fish in the Irish Sea, Celtic Sea or Porcupine bank on the west
coast targeting prawns. She is a fine vessel and provides a safe and modern ship for Eamon and his crew. All at Dorans wish them safe and
successful fishing throughout the coming years and look forward to buying some of the catch which you can buy in Dorans and seafood2go.ie.
All the modern digital communications, navigation and fish finding equipment make the wheelhouse appear like something from Star Trek.
The galley is well equipped and of a high standard for the hard working crew. Mealtimes are a highlight of day when you’re at sea for over a week at a time and food and rest are hugely important.
